I just started a little garden even though I thought it would be to late?

I planted some seeds not really invite them to develop and now I have a small garden cucumber / flower! Now I 'd really gradice planting anything else that may delay things I plant this? I live in an area where CA temps rarely fall below 90 degrees but I lost screen.
