Can I plant a garden in just plain dirt?

Im a beginner in gardening and Im only 14, so I smussano really go in a car and guide the deposit to obtain a certain ground. So you can plant things such as watermelon, apple trees, flowers, etc.. in just dirt? If so, how deep should I plant seeds and how many times a day should I innaffiarlo and how many? Moreover, I get my seeds from fruti real, no package. A new thing: Where I put the mulch?
