How do I “thin out” seedlings in my garden?

I'm trying gardening for the first time and started with easy to cultivate wild flowers and herbs. So far so good but the instructions on seed packets say to dilute the semenzali once appear.   I'm not sure if I have to stop just small sheets or estraggo the entire stalk, roots and all for what? How do you grow a cheap yet beautiful flower garden?

Small garden patch for children. What should we grow?

I have a small area of land in my square approximatly 1.5mtrs of the garden. My daughters are aged & 7; 9 years. Any suggestions what we can develop. The area is against a fence and a wall from 2 sides. sides of the othetr 2 are open. Its inside my rear courtyard and in a really protected area. probably about 2 hours of direct sunlight each day. That's if the lol sunny. We live in the United Kingdom. I do I need lots are composed and how scavatura above should be done before planting. and how long can we wait until that things do not develop. Im very very new to gardening.
